I think the points that Joe brings up in this article is very innovative and true. Using twitter as a platform for professional development is an awesome concept. School districts are already on a tight budget so using this free tool is ingenious and it also encourages those involved with education to keep up with the social media trends that their students are partaking of. This is another way that teachers can relate with and engage their students. Using it promotes brainstorming and serves as a free resource that utilizes others’ knowledge instantaneously. I wonder if educators in my area are utilizing this tool. I will be inquiring and suggesting to all my teacher friends. I think this is a wonderful idea!
